Hop in your car or on your bike and head out for a full immersion in nature! <\/p>\n<h2>The Cotentin Marshes<\/h2>\n<p>Normandy is known for the cliffs of \u00c9tretat, its beaches, and Mont Saint-Michel, but did you know that <strong>the region is home to a gigantic regional nature park<\/strong>? Spanning 148,000 hectares, vast protected marshlands shelter abundant wildlife and plant life, including the famous white stork. <\/p>\n<p>Here, <strong>marshes and hedgerows share the space along the coastline<\/strong>, which you can visit using eco-transport (electric boats). Exploration trails wind through the marshes, allowing you to get closer to this remarkable area while respecting local biodiversity. But you can go even further to learn the history of the regional nature park, discover the different species and varieties living in the marshes, and <strong>explore this area on educational trails<\/strong>: head to the <a href=\"https:\/\/parc-cotentin-bessin.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regional Nature Park House<\/a>!<br \/>\n<iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9m8sEC7j_Nw\" width=\"100%\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\"><\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>The Regional Nature Park House<\/h2>\n<p>As part of a nature park, the Cotentin marshes are <strong>classified as a sensitive area<\/strong>. It is therefore not possible to roam freely. To do so, you need to go through the Regional Nature Park House: in Carentan-les-Marais, this site lets you <strong>access two areas spread over 100 hectares<\/strong>: the <strong>Ponts d&#8217;Ouve Sensitive Natural Area and the Tadpole Garden<\/strong>. Several activities are available:   <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; A route around the Sensitive Natural Area: a <strong>5.5 km loop along the edge of the marshes<\/strong>, open in summer and autumn.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>&#8211; A <strong>discovery trail<\/strong>: over one kilometer, this route includes <strong>5 birdwatching hides<\/strong> where you can learn more about migratory birds and local bird species.<\/div>\n<p>To round out your visit, a <strong>permanent exhibition &#8220;Living in the park in 2050&#8221;<\/strong> looks at how the Cotentin marshes adapt and change as the climate warms.<\/p>\n<h2>Practical information<\/h2>\n<p>The Park House is o<strong>pen to visitors every week<\/strong> from Tuesday to Sunday.<\/p>\n<div>Opening hours: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM<\/div>\n<div>The Park House accepts cash, bank cards, checks, and holiday vouchers.<\/div>\n<div>You can <strong>rent bikes<\/strong> on site between May and September.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>15 km from Utah Beach campsite, you can discover a one-of-a-kind place in Normandy: the Cotentin Marshes.
