Jurques Zoo has been around for 44 years<\/strong>. Located between Caen and Vire, this site covers more than 20 hectares<\/strong> and is home to over 700 animals<\/strong> in total.
\nHailing from Africa, Australia, China, and even Siberia, these wild species live in a protected environment.
\nJurques Zoo also pursues an educational goal<\/strong>, notably with walk-through enclosures and keeper demonstrations to give the public a better understanding of the needs and lifestyles of the various residents. <\/p>\nReptiles, primates, big cats, parrots… Species range from the most famous (zebras, giraffes, wolves) to the most spectacular: the hyacinth macaw (the world’s largest parrot), the Siberian tiger, and the white lion\u2014a rare genetic mutation and the star of the zoo! <\/p>\n
