Stand-up paddle (SUP) in a nutshell

Stand-up paddling, or SUP, is a leisure sport halfway between surfing and kayaking. Like surfing, it’s practiced on a board; like kayaking, you paddle forward. The term “stand-up” comes from the fact that the paddler has to stand up.

Why choose Normandy for stand-up paddling?

Normandy is an ideal region for stand-up paddling. It boasts magnificent coastlines, romantic beaches, picturesque coves and spectacular cliffs. The calm waters of the English Channel allow you to discover these natural beauties from a unique vantage point. The SUP is an excellent alternative to a canoe for a ride on the water.

The benefits of stand-up paddling

The sea air of Normandy is good for your respiratory system. Inhaling the fine droplets of seawater helps you breathe easier and fight illness. Rowing a stand-up paddle tones your muscles and strengthens your cardiovascular system. That’s why we recommend paddling during your weekend or vacation in Normandy.
