Nestled between nature and history, Normandy is a region full of surprises, ideal for a holiday rich in discovery. Whether you are a couple, with family, or among friends, here is a selection of activities to do near our campsite on the D-Day landing beaches and throughout the Normandy region.
🌸 Activities in Normandy by season
Spring: Normandy in bloom
In spring, Norman landscapes awaken with an explosion of color. It is the ideal season to discover flowering gardens, such as Vauville, or to explore the Cotentin marshes on foot or by bike from the campsite. The mild climate makes for very pleasant walks.
Summer: Beaches, sports, and the great outdoors
Summer in Normandy is the perfect time to enjoy the sea. From the campsite, you have direct access to Utah Beach for swimming or beach games. Thrill-seekers can try sand yachting at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont. Numerous festivals also liven up the coast during this season.
Autumn: Culture and hiking
When the leaves turn red and gold, the hiking trails become magical. The GR223 runs along the coast with superb views. It is also an excellent time to visit museums like the D-Day Landing Museum, or to discover local products: cider, cheeses, artisanal jams…
Winter: Heritage and cocooning
Even in winter, Normandy retains all its charm. The deserted beaches offer a soothing calm, ideal for invigorating walks. Take the opportunity to visit medieval villages, stroll through Bayeux or Barfleur, or relax in a spa in Carentan or Cherbourg.
👨👩👧👦 Activities according to your holiday style
For families
For unforgettable memories, Normandy is packed with activities suitable for children: the Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg fascinates with its giant submarine and aquariums. Champrépus Zoo allows you to get close to animals in a natural setting. Around the campsite, pony rides and shore fishing will delight the little ones.
For couples
Coastal landscapes and cultural richness make Normandy a romantic destination. Dine with your feet in the sand at Grandcamp-Maisy, discover charming typical villages, and end your day with a sunset on Utah Beach. Don’t miss a visit to the Château de Balleroy, a perfect setting for lovers of history and heritage.
With friends
With friends, the region offers many fun and original activities: a WWII-themed escape game in Carentan, cider tastings at a local cidery, and water sports like kayaking or paddleboarding in the Baie des Veys. For groups, it’s also an opportunity to gather around a beach barbecue or a games night at the campsite.
