Visit to the Utah Beach Landing Museum

A must-see in Normandy, the D-Day Museum is a ten-minute walk from your campsite accommodation. It was built on the beach chosen by American troops to land on June 6, 1944.
A visit to this museum will give you an insight into how the D-Day landings unfolded, from their preparation to their conclusion. Your children will learn more about the history of the Second World War and the role played by Normandy and this landing beach.
Normandy is also home to other landing beaches, each of which has its own museum dedicated to a different part of the Second World War story.

Outings around Mont-Saint-Michel

The Mont-Saint-Michel and surrounding area is one of Normandy’s places of interest, with a wealth of activities and outings for all the family. Start with a visit to the famous Benedictine Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, an architectural treasure in the bay just an hour and a half from the campsite, with its heated indoor swimming pool.
During your stay in Normandy, take a guided walk in the bay at low tide. You can also take a dog-sled ride on the beach at Dragey-Ronthon, one of the children’s favorite activities. You can extend your escapade as far as Plage du Saussaye, a quiet spot with a view of the Pointe du Grouin.

Visit Rouen

During your family holiday in Normandy, a visit to Rouen will appeal to young and old alike. Until you arrive in the capital of Normandy, you’ll pass through Bayeux, Caen, Pont-l’Evêque (20 minutes from Deauville) and Pont-Audemer.
In Rouen, take in the sights: Gros-Horloge, Palais de la Justice, Notre-Dame de Rouen Cathedral, Château de Robert-le-Diable, Aître-Saint-Maclou gallery cemetery… Take the kids to the Jardin des Plantes before enjoying a glass of Calvados on the Place du Vieux-Marché, in the heart of the city.
On the way back to your accommodation, discover the Calvados Père Magloire distillery in Pont-l’Evêque, the Ducal Castle in Caen and the Bayeux Tapestry Museum. For children’s enjoyment, Normandy is home to many amusement parks. The best of these is Festyland. With a surface area of over 10 ha, it is the largest amusement park in Normandy. It’s located in Bretteville-sur-Odon, Calvados, ten minutes from Caen and one hour from our Utah Beach campsite with swimming pool.
This leisure park offers a variety of activities and attractions for the whole family. Your children will be thrilled with the carousels, slides, giant swings and more. Festyland is a must for any vacation in Normandy, so be sure to visit during your stay.

Sortienature at Jurques Zoo

Equidistant from the campsite accommodation and the seaside resort of Deauville, Jurques Zoo, one of the largest zoos in Normandy, is home to over 650 animals in a 21-hectare wooded park. A visit to the zoo allows children to discover animals from the four corners of the globe: Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, North and South America…
A visit to this zoo is an ideal family outing in Normandy. You’ll discover extraordinary animals such as white lions, snow leopards, Niger giraffes and griffon vultures.
