Jurques Zoo
83 km from Utah Beach campsite, Jurques Zoo is made up of around ten themed areas, including the African plain, the reptile village, the monkey islands, and the land of ice. Several areas are open to the public and allow direct encounters with the animals: this is the case with the large tropical aviary, as well as the Malagasy park Safari Maki, which lets visitors walk among lemurs across more than 4,000 m2. Throughout the day, there are feeding sessions for various species, from the red panda to the penguin and the lion. Handling snakes is a flagship activity at Jurques Zoo.
A restaurant and a snack bar are available on site for meals. Admission is €12 for children aged 3 to 11, and €18 from age 12. Entry is free for children under 3. The zoo is open from February to November, from 10 AM to 7 PM in July and August, and until 6 PM in the low season.
Cerza Zoo
Less than 150 km from Utah Beach campsite, Cerza Zoo offers a true safari experience in Normandy. Several routes can be done on foot through areas where animals live in semi-freedom: the African animals trail, the big cats trail, and the Indonesian village. The safari train is an activity lasting nearly half an hour that invites you to discover several hectares of natural spaces and dozens of animal species aboard a charming little train. Other original activities are offered at Cerza Zoo: quiz aperitifs, a 3D cinema, scavenger hunts, and special animal encounters.
The zoo is open from early February to late November, from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM in summer and until 6:30 PM in the low season. Admission is €22 full price and €15 for ages 3 to 11.
Champrepus Zoo
Less than 90 km from Utah Beach campsite, the Champrépus zoological park is renowned for its exotic gardens from three continents, guaranteeing relaxation and a change of scenery. Animals from all over the world can be discovered as you explore large themed areas: Asian, tropical, Malagasy, and African. A mini-farm allows children to meet the animals up close. A paradise for kids, the site has a playground and offers plenty of activities for little ones, such as the animals’ afternoon snack or a treasure-hunt-style visit via a smartphone app.
Champrépus Zoo is open from February to late October, from 10 AM to 7 PM from April to August, and from 11 AM to 6 PM for the rest of the season. Admission is €11.50 for children aged 3 to 12, and €17.50 full price.
